The Renaissance Society is very excited to announce Solveig Øvstebø as the first new Executive Director in nearly 40 years. Øvstebø is currently the director of Bergen Kunsthall in her native Norway. She is expected to start at The Renaissance Society in June 2013 and we can’t wait to welcome her to Chicago.
Over the next couple months we will be posting highlights from exhibitions curated and organized by Solveig in Norway.

Thank you to everyone that reblogged and liked our Benefit Art Auction Item posts. Now back to our regularly scheduled posts on exhibitions, exhibited artists in the news, and upcoming events at The Renaissance Society. Our season opens on September 23 with a solo exhibition by Vietnamese-born, Berlin-based conceptual artist Danh Vo.
